If you would like to consider St. Christopher’s as the site for your wedding, we welcome the opportunity to talk with you about your plans.  For a wedding to be held at St. Christopher’s, one of the parties being married must be a baptized Christian.  Generally weddings are to follow the approved Episcopal services for weddings.  Marriage is considered a sacrament in The Episcopal Church.  Marriage also must conform to the laws of the state of New Hampshire and the canons of the Church.

Here are a few answers to some commonly asked questions

Can a same-sex wedding take place at St. Christopher’s?
Yes.  We have a liturgy approved by The Episcopal Church with sensitivities to language around gender.

Can I be married at St. Christopher’s if I am divorced?
 Many people who have been through divorce do remarry in The Episcopal Church. Marriage is understood as a lifelong covenant.  As humans though we are all fallible and remarriage after divorce is possible in The Episcopal Church.  A formal approval from the bishop is needed when one or both parties have been through divorce. Premarital counseling is all the more important to prepare for marriage when this is the case.

Can we do pastoral premarital counseling at St. Christopher’s?
What we can provide is a premarital assessment over the course of 3 meetings with the program Prepare/Enrich.  Fr. Zac is a trained facilitator for this program.  This program helps to explore areas of strength and growth and flag any areas of concern.  Such a program does not take the place of therapy/counseling with a licensed counselor.

What would the costs be for having a wedding at St. Christopher’s?
Please contact the parish concerning costs, as this will vary depending on the size and details of the wedding.

Can we have our marriage blessed, if we were already married by a judge or secular officiant?
Yes there is a liturgy for just such a blessing, please contact the parish if this is something you would like to learn more about.
